The outlet shop just listed no inventory available. My guess is that dell has been using returns for testing and will ship future refurbs with the rom updates already installed. The most busted (bad grammar) piece of software i have ever seen! What does dell do to fix this? They posted a rom that allows the wm5 victims to go back to wm2003se and will not fix the wm5. I also got stuck with an axim x50v that was “upgradable to wm5” and when i purchased the upgrade cd it did nothing but kill my axim. Dells fix revert back and now they have waited long enough that my warranty has expired!! – by witheld best way to get service from dell (11:52pm est thu oct 05 2006) i have always had pretty good luck with dell service. I have an axim x51 and a boat load of their pcs. I'll agree that at first phone service was a real p.i.t.a., but the best way to go is the chat support. Other than asking you for your phone number more than once now and then, you usually get a real live technician and not a csr with a cue card. My husband is a csr so no offence intended to all csrs everywhere. But the day i was on the phone with one and after i went in to a great deal of geek speak (jargon) about not being able to get into the bios and switch the boot sequence, she then told me at least ten times during the troubleshooting phase to “power down the unit (laptop) by pressing down on the power button and holding it for 10 seconds” those exact words each time. I switched to chat support. If you describe your problem in technical enough terms, they will assign a technician, right away and the wait is rarely more than 10 minutes. Just long enough for a couple games of free cell. – by tiggerr.
